i-Meet's Global Business Community Celebrates Three Years
Members, Engagement Post Positive Growth; Future Goals Outlined
Philadelphia, PA (USA) November 18, 2011 – i-Meet.com, the global business community for people who plan meetings and events, announced a number of major milestones today, including its 3-year anniversary.
With over 65,000 members in 173 countries worldwide, i-Meet is now larger than the combined memberships of major industry associations MPI, PCMA and GBTA. Meeting planners and buyers represent over 80% of members today, and growth continues at a rapid pace. “While we’re a young company, achieving three years in the social media space as a business community underscores our growing experience and validates our longer-term prospects,” said John Pino, i-Meet’s Founder and CEO. “We’ve learned a great deal and continue to be excited about the future and what we can achieve together with our members.”
Pino added that i-Meet’s business model will focus on continuing to grow all aspects of its community, and will specifically work to improve its effectiveness in three major areas. i-Meet’s goals will center around the following initiatives and expansions:
-
"As the world's largest business community for the meetings and events industry, we remain convinced that the collective power of our professional members will help re-define the processes and opportunities of the future. We’ll work hard to attract and retain industry professionals and continue to grow our membership.”
“As social media marketers, we focus on awareness campaigns and peer marketing for our global audience of industry pros. We’ll continue to help suppliers bring their best advantages and offers to buyers, within the respectful boundaries of permission-based marketing.
“Because of the power of our community, we provide the Industry's most robust contingent labor solution, representing highly-credentialed independent contractors to clients on a project basis. Helping organizations with strategic approaches to staffing is responsible and necessary in today’s economic environment.”
Over the last six months, the site metrics for www.i-meet.com have improved dramatically. Unique visitors, visits, page views, referring sites and search engine finds reflected positively, as more and more industry professionals engaged online. Blogs, public and private group activity, supplier recommendations by members, and connection requests also experienced strong growth.
“We’re thrilled with our progress to date, and are grateful to our members, partners and the industry for the warm welcome we’ve received as we work hard to establish more and more relevance for our members,” said Pino. “Stay tuned, as there is a lot more to come.”
